Pellet probe testing

I bought a 1300kt with a LW barrel from the custom shop for project gun. I ordered a hollow probe because I had good luck with them on my 2240. Once the project was finished it was time to get down to shooting. I couldn’t get the gun to group. I tried 9 different pellets and finally settled on JSB 7.33’s. But I still had fliers. Finally I just put the stock probe back in and tested again. It shoots everything. It really likes Crosman Walmart pellets. So I did some velocity testing. At 10 pumps the hollow probe is 615fps. The stock probe is 585fps. The hollow probe is worth 2 pumps but it’s not good for accuracy. I ordered a stainless extended probe. I will test that next.

Installed an extended probe. 605fps at 10 pumps. Gun is very accurate. So in my testing, for a .177 1377/1300kt, the hollow probe is definitely the velocity king. Just no good for accuracy. A hollow probe in my .22 2240 is great. Bigger beefier pellet I guess.
