I went through the first tin of rws hobby pretty quick with no surprises or anything quirky. It has shot great right from the get go, just seems to be even better, and is really not very hold sensitive at all. These targets have a 10mm bulls eye and were shot from 15 yards with the open sights. I've been bringing up the front sight till it just touches that little black blurry dot then pull the trigger
. Most times I can cover 4 with a quarter but there always seems to be a bit of a flyer. The bottom target I did manage to cover 4 with a dime with the 1 non cooperative pellet. Not as good as some of you dead eyes, but from a 58 year old with what feels like 75 yr old eyes, I'm pleased. I think before I put a scope on it I would like to continue shooting like this and maybe add a peep sight. I don't know the first thing about those, as far as quality, price, or how they would mount, so any suggestions or recommendations would be appreciated!

Bout as good or a bit better than I can do with open sights, and have 16 yr old eyes
I bet with a scope, those groups will look like only one pellet hit.

Yep, 15 yrds is about as I'd want to go with open sights, my eyes just can't handle it. Nice shooting, I agree with Nate, put a scope on it and the gun can do really well (about .4" ctc at 25 yards with my AH Elite).

I really like to shoot at small targets, and beyond 15 yards that little bulls eye is dang hard to see! Someone in a posting here said "small target, small miss", ever since I read that I went that way and find it makes me focus and concentrate more, and is a heck of a lot more challenging than a bigger target. I am thrilled with that gun and cant believe it can be had so reasonably!

I have the Thumbhole ambi stock version in .22. Been having good results with Crosman Ultra Mag pellets out to 45 yds. This is in the UK with our crappy power laws, so the rifle is running just under 12 fpe.
It's really just a Ruger Airhawk Elite with another badge...and the better scope I put on it i.e. Walther 4x12x50 with some Accushot double screw mounts.
Even at this power, using x8 mag with a 30yd zero, the holdover at 45 yds is a manageable 2 mildots with the Crosman pellets.
I also put in a tune kit, but used the Maccari Large Apex piston seal which is v good and cheap to import

Give it 1500, to REALLY break in.
You should expect groups the same size at 35 yds when its scoped.
Probably 1.5 inch groups at 50 yds when all said and done......dont know that the gun is capable of more than that. And that is optimistic.
SHOULD be able to nail a coke can at 50yds all day long though.
Try RWS superdomes if it like the hobbies.
Also, order from Pyramyd and try the H&N FTTs in the 5.54 head size, and also this gun will LOVE barracudas in 5.53 or larger head size.
Also try some of the cheap Daisy wadcutters, they are actually more dome shaped.
They hit HARD.
God bless,
Farmer

Thanx for the tips Farmer, I am running superdomes through it now, nice grouping and the same thing with cphp. I have yet to try any JSB pellets that everyone seems to really like...no one here stocks them. One gun shop can bring them in at $17.00 a tin. I am going to have to place an online order and have the ones you mentioned sent to family just outside of Detroit.

If you have trouble getting JSB Exact, you could give RWS Superfield a try (assuming you have no trouble getting hold of RWS pellets)
V similar in shape and weight to the JSB's which also work particularly well and IMO better than Superdomes (in this rifle)
