Winchester 2-7 x 32 AO "Air Rifle" Scope

(1/4) > >>

brapshwing:
Anybody try this Winchester scope on a springer? Price is right and with AO it's worth a look. See pic it's available at Optics Planet for $50.

I need a scope for a Umarex Surge .22 with plastic stock. Vortek kit is probably harder on a scope than stock power.. I have an old Simmons 4x32 so thinking of an upgrade. Thanks.

For the price, it's the only 2-7x I have read a out on here. I read about it in posts where some members recommended it.  For $50, a 2-7x ao is a great option for a springer.  Great all around scope.

Back_Roads:
For a springer I would go with the Hammers scope they come with a substantial solid mount.

For the price you can't beat the Winchester branded scopes.  I own five.  Two are fixed 4Xand the rest are 3-7X32.  I still have one Hammer's 4-9X32 of two I bought several years ago.  One was beaten to death by a Hatsan magnum springer.   It lasted two hard years though!  All my Magnum springers now wear Winchester scopes.  IMO the clarity of these scopes is as good as any Chinese made glass.  They are rugged and the AO feature is well calibrated.

The downside is QC.  Some people have reported QC problems.  I haven't had any.  Another con is the scope rings are trash.  To get the most out of these scopes you will have to replace the rings.  My third beef is the reticle.  It is a perfectly adequate duplex cross hair.  The wires are fine enough for precise aiming at targets as small as a squirrel's head.  But I would really prefer a Mil dot reticle.

I have tried a number of the other popular scope maker's products.  I have Leupold, Hawke, Leapers, Bushnell, CenterPoint, Hammers, Simmons, Barska, Pinty, and BSA scopes.  The Hawke and leaper's scopes are definitely better glass but they are also twice to three times the price.
