Congrats, Ron. That's the one HW break barrel I've been thinking about for a long time, but just never got around to buying. Now that I'm purging the collection of heavy break barrels, probably no 98 in my future. Sweet looking gun, though, and in 20, to boot. Love to hear how it shoots for you.
Thanks all. The gun is a 2009 according to the serial number. I do like the information was stamped in gun. It looks like it has a tick of droop. I won't know for sure until I mount the scope.Being a 2009 gets it a non threaded barrel. I prefer that as I've never wanted a moderator on an airgun. It's old enough to have the silver adjustable butt plate. Too my disappointment there's no twist adjustment. Just vertical. A HW97KT I worked on had adjustable twist and it was very nice.I like this stock is new enough to cover the breech. With the older guns you lose some of the later improvements. The stock hanger brackets are welded to the compression tube. They can easily be stripped and aren't easily fixed. Also the fixed detent is brazed into the tube and if that wears away you're screwed. The newer models have a replaceable stock hanging bracket with integral fixed detent. Also newer guns come with an improved cocking shoe.So there's good and bad to each era.I'm looking forward to shooting it once I finish my move to AR
