It disappeared when BSA sold out to the Spanish, where the Spanish did not up-take numerous models when they bought the rights. They went primarily with the PCP stuff that BSA had started offering, plus the Junior Meteor, and Supersport derivatives but the Gold Star etc were dropped. From my part i was not sad about the Magnum going.I have tuned many over the years. The gun had a bunch of novel new ideas, which BSA should be commended for but most didnt work out as planned. The breech seal closes down on an angle which was a new novel idea to allow easy loading. It worked but created sealing issues, as the seal gets shoved over during closing. It can seal for a while but eventually starts causing issues. The guide rod for the mainspring, was a novel X design, so that only the tips touched inside the spring, but ive chucked these out and machined up new traditional round ones. They were often too tight and not very true, being a moulding. The plenum chamber (a void in the barrel housing to act as a silencer) was another novel idea but robbed too much barrel length. The barrel is just too short. The gun also sat far too high above the grip and a slight downward and to the right recoil. Very difficult to control. If you are not spot on with your control and repeatable grip, it will tell you.The HW45/P1 is not so pretty but a much better gun in reality. If you think of it as a prototype gun, that required some of the prototype ideas improving or dropping, you would be about there.
IIRC they made during the early aughts and were between the Webley Tempest and the Beeman P1I haven't seen one in yearsDoes anyone own one? Please share you experience
