Definitely good advice. But I won't be going up in power. As for my scope. It is not broken it is just not good enough to see far. As the zoom goes up it gets harder to see distance. So to focus at anything past 50 yards I need to turn down the magnification. After 75 yards I am all the way down. I don't want to change anything as my rifle is dead accurate in the normal Field target distance of 8-55 yards. The only problem with the scope is the parallax wheel seems to feel loose. It rocks around like somthing might be broken inside. I think it might be from the case smashing it. I removed some of the foam to give more space.
Hello HectorI definitely need to invest is a real scope. What I have is adequate. But that is all , just adequate It is the 315 dollar Aeon 10-40x56. I have used it for field target and it is a good scope for the money. I am definitely realistic about what to expect from a scope. This has decent glass and no lights . The focus for Field target alows good range finding up to 35 yards. The POI does not change when I change zoom and I have done well with it. For three times the price I would expect a scope to range find out to 55 yards better and be stable at a wide temperature range. My biggest problem is I moved to Iowa and there is no Field Target. :-(
I am looking for somthing above 1000 dollars in a scope specifically designed to shoot Field Target. Thanks for the advice, All I want to do is shoot Field Target. I hope to attend the Nationals this year. I had a great time last year. Except for the rain it was terrific. I'm only shooting out to 100 yards out of curiosity. And I figure shooting 75-100 yards will help with my 35-55 yard game.I love FIrld Target and I am constantly trying to promote the sport in Iowa. No one has even heard of it here. They shot deer and trap and are avid gun enthusiast. They love the outdoors. So all the elements are here. I would love to start an airgun store. The market seems good to make a success of a small business. catering to target shooters and hunters.
