TX-200 looks like a nice rifle. I wonder if you could put some good iron sights on it. (adj. peep rear, fine post front).

Can it be done? Would be really cool!!

anything can be done. with the right tools time and money. If someone was to spend the money and time to put sights on one. The TX200 would be a nice choice to do it to.

Get a low profile rear peep sight that hooks on to the scope rail. Then all that remains is for a good Air-Smith to figure out a good front sight set-up !! Any Takers ??

Well anything is possible. My question?- Why would anybody want to put open sights on a 15-17ftlb air rifle that already has a LW barrel and weighs in the 10lb class and is machined to accept a scope? Wouldn't you be depriving this rifle of it's accuracy potential just a little bit to use anything other than good optics? Seems if you just wanted a peeper you could spend less by putting this type of sight on a less expensive gun. I know diopter and other peep sights can be very accurate and go well with certain types of rifles but a TX200?? Blasphemy! Just kidding, if it's your gun you can do as you will.To each his own.

Progun, Scopes are not "all that". I just took a New POS off my New Trail NP. A good peep set-up will out-last any scope and can be just as accurate at AG ranges. (I've shot Palma comp. .308's with peep sights from 100 to 1000 yds.) .

Back in 1988, when I finally bought my first centerfire rifle, a Ruger M77 .30-06, I myself went out of my way to order it with iron sights.
Now, you cannot buy one at all with them, unless you want the dangerous game version.
Therefore, I understand your desire to have iron sights on your TX-200.
But I have to tell you that any scope that cannot stand up to a lifetime of normal use, especially on such a notably soft recoiling gun as the TX, is not worth having at all.

There's a guy named Willy that posts on the Yellow who put peep sights on a TX200. Try a search or ask your question over there for more info. I recall lots of pics and that he was very pleased with the results.

Iron sights are not that bad, Simo Häyhä did quite well with them - 505 confirmed kills ;D
