I'm on 21 acres in central Cal foothills with a copious amount of ground squirrels. For years i tried and tried to curtail the gen pop of squirrels with $200 break barrel guns w/ little to zero success. Finally broke down and invested into a .22 Marauder and put a Vortex scope on it that cost more than the rifle. I now know that I should have bought a PCP rifle years ago.
Anyhow, I never tried for head shots because it was always a miss, and those little pecker heads would dive into the hole, never to be seen again for hours. So yesterday when I spotted a barking squirrel, I took aim at his dome about 47 yds out, and BOOM! Shot that pecker head right in his fuzzy face.
Yeah I know ya'll do this all the time, but I had to share my experience. I'm still all giddy about it.

That's what got me into PCP's , had various break barrels over the years ,never could put two pellets next to each other, never heard of the artillery hold, then I saw a marauder in a pawn shop and was impressed a few months later I bought a .25 mrod and been hooked ever since.

So far all I have used is JSB diablo 18.13gr pellets. I chose those after the all recommendations on GTA. In my rifle, they tend to get a little flighty beyond 50 yds, so the plan is to try some heavier pellets.

I use the JSB 18's in most of my .22's, I've tried the beast's but they don't fit in a Magazine, easiest to single load with a tray, need to bump up the power with those.
