The trigger of the LG is a true delight; probably the best trigger I’ve ever experienced. A first stage of just the right length and resistance, a solid stop at the second stage, and the crispest, cleanest break, with everything happening precisely, elegantly and effortlessly. However, I'd like to increase the LG55's trigger pull some, ie. make the trigger a bit heavier. The trigger has turned out a bit of a puzzle. It's said that Walther used many different triggers on the LG55's, including an LGV trigger in some later 55's. Looking up LGV trigger adjustments is pretty hard, thanks to Walther using the same model name on two different guns from two very different eras. It's obvious from looking at my LG's trigger that the front trigger screw adjusts the first stage length, while the grub screw behind it pushes up on the lever above the trigger blade. I assume this screw affects the sear engagement, and doing so, the trigger pull? What does the screw separate from the trigger blade, in front of it do?
Springs are VERY good in those guns and they were designed to be LOW STRESSED (long action). SO they can even take a long time of being left cocked without setting.
