Heck, maybe even dip for a fine coating on the exterior as well. They make that stuff to dip your tools handles in. Could be same stuff.
They sell it in the spray as well... correct?

The pin on upper side of the frame is too small for the matching hole in the grip. Oil the frame pin and use a little epoxy putty in the grip hole. Screw together the grips. When set, take apart and remove any excess epoxy. This will stop the grips from moving. Dave
