I am surprised at the price difference between the standard and the TD if the only difference is a few pounds of weight. The price of small CF bottles seems crazy
My choice was between the Challenger and the Eagle Claw in .22. I chose the Eagle Claw, the lever action is cool and finish is good. What's not is the short stock, OK is your 4' tall, not so if your 6'2". My other gripe is when I hand pumped from 100 to just under 200 bar the pressure release valve on the hand pump also released the rifles air reservoir. That should not happen. Wondering if I made the right choice.

Wondering if I made the right choice. For years I've wondered how the air gun industry (in general) managed to get away with sky high prices and lousy after sales support. And it doesn't seem to matter if you bought a $200 or $2,000 air gun, so many dealers, distributors and manufacturers offer no help when you have a problem.I'll say this for Bin Yan at The Pellet Shop, he answered my texts and came through when I had issues with my AEA rifles. The only thing that keep me from buying another one (for now at least) is what happens after the warranty is over? The valve pins on almost all the AEA rifles are a known weak link and prone to failure. Will AEA maintain stock on older models a year from now? Two years from now? Who knows? But otherwise, and as others have said, they are well made (although each model has some quirk that sometimes can be overcome with a minor modification).

I did not have the same experience using a hand pump, but I haven't used one with the 'Claw in over a year now. It's been my most reliable air gun in terms of leaking as well. Maybe it's worth calling PA and asking them.
