Just ordered this digital caliper from AliExpress and if you use PayPal there will be 80 cents fee, I think PayPal is the better way to pay.

Just be aware that the precision reading will only be 1/10 of a mm and 1/100 of an inch.

I've had a hard time trusting the digital ones since I saw one at work that had gotten so far off that the error was visible, like showing 1.0000" when it was actually at about an inch and an eighth, even though it was zeroed correctly, showing 0.0000 when closed. I've been using a mechanical one.

I have a CEN-TECH 6 inch digital Caliper from Harbor Freight for $9.99 that works excellent.
Accuracy: .001"/0.02mm

I believe I have the same one from Harbor Freight too that goes down to 1/1000th of an inch, except I paid around $4.99 because they had a big sale and I had an additional coupon. It came in a nice case and I 've had it for 8 years or so and it still works well.

Accuracy: .001"/0.02mm
That's the precision, not the accuracy. Because of my (admittedly one-time) bad experience with a digital caliper, I would recommend periodically checking against a known standard to make sure it agrees.

Agree. I have several $20 HF calipers, and any time I need to be sure of the measurement, I check the caliper in a .1000” gage pin. This is called single point calibration in engineering parlance.

I knocked over an entire case of pin gauges once in the QC lab once. :-[
Seem to remember it was a 250 piece set. My punishment was to mic each one and put it in its right hole. ::)
I trust my personal digital calipers, they are Mitutoyo, close enough for Gov work... and cost a heck of a lot more that $4.
