There's just enough room to get the lens cover on there. Balances great, shoots great and I shot 29 of 30 the first try on the 10 Dimes challenge with it. Rifle is a Beeman R7 .177. The scope is a Hawke Airmax 3-9x40 in medium Hawke Match mounts. If it works for you, that's all that matters
The lower the better as long as it doesn't touch the barrel.

I assume you guys are hyper-worried about cant? Otherwise why so anal about it?Just get a scope level..... -YOn one of my guns the scope is so low that I can not get the lens cap to close...
The reason I like a low scope on air rifles is it reduces the amount of hold over at very close range. Of course it doesn't help at long range.
