FWIW-The new Weihrauch stocks are much better than the older ones.-Y
My $0.02 The HW 50 is the perfect size to shoot off-hand. What most people do not like is the articulated cocking arm. This enables a shorter cocking arc of the barrel and a shorter cocking slot carved into the stock. One of the main reasons that side cocking springers are considered the most accurate, think FWB 300 and D 460, is because they have no cocking slot cut into the front of the fore-end of the stock. The extra wood dampens the vibrations of the gun and barrel. At 12 fpe, the HW 50 is the best break barrel around. Like the HW 30, it does not have enough umph to push the larger .22 pellets, but in either of the 2 smaller calibers it is bliss. To the people who do not like the cocking effort I would say either you need to find a better method of cocking the gun or stop being a wimp!I shoot 200-300 pellets a week, in 2 range sessions, and I find cocking the gun to be NO PROBLEM. I believe that most people who complain just do not have the right technic.FWIW-The new Weihrauch stocks are much better than the older ones.-Y

Just because you are shooting 200 rounds per week with your 50's..., means you're used to the cocking effort ! But that does not mean that the cocking effort is easy on the 50 (to put it even more in perspective: especially for the relatively mid powered energy it has). The golden triangle for springers, again, are weight/lenght/energy output. If these are out of balance, it is more like a pot metal traingle

Better hand positioning for the trigger pull and better head positioning for my cheek weld. + it loos better, IMHO.-Y

On most HW's, I find the trigger to be just a bit too far away. I usually end up getting the extra setback triggers.
