I suspect 1300 FPS may be a bridge too far.R9achcreek
I really want lead free ammo to work. Lead is obviously the best that can be currently produced for ballistic purposes, but I still hope there will be competent lead free hunting options in the future. Last time I gave my opinions of lead ammo I unknowingly walked into a pongee stick trap, so I'll just leave it at that.

Well looks like it is working in your Claw .....sure it's good to have options, not many guns are accurate with non lead ammo.
Well the time of flight is shorter and the shorter time to wind to affect the projectile?
Seems to be the trend...But pellets shot at 1300 have more speed at that 20yds than the ones shot at 950 ish? So they get there quicker where ever you are shooting them at?And if its accurate then whats the problem? Its the same song, supersonic is bad, its inaccurate, wastes air, transonic instability, wind drift is worse. Well the time of flight is shorter and the shorter time to wind to affect the projectile? If it's more accurate when shooting at 1300-1400fps then for me there is no reason not to then or is there?Marko
Wind drift and how it occurs is not a theory.... I get soooooooo tired of people talking about reducing the "side area" of projectiles, or reducing the "time of flight" as reducing wind drift, and all that shows is a basic misunderstanding of what causes it in the first place, which is drag.... Spreading such disinformation hurts airgunning.... Instead of criticizing me for not shooting enough, perhaps you should take the time to learn more about the basics.... You have no idea about my personal situation, physical condition, or current interests.... I would love to have more time to shoot, but I can't even find enough time or energy to get into my workshop, which is 50 feet away, let alone to a location to shoot, many miles away.... You do what you do best, and let me try and do what I can to help explain the physics behind airguns.... Perhaps if you don't so easily dismiss my "rants", you might actually learn from them.... Bob
