I (foolishly) bought a gamo swarm magnum 3 years ago. Within the first day of shooting the plastic baffles in the shroud and been struck and &^^& was rattling around in there. It's easy to disassemble and one of these days I will 3-D print a replacement for the insides. Still not 100% sure why a springer would need a moderator.
I still will not buy another Gamo, because I already have three, However the CFX did it again at about 25 yards. Aim - bang -dead rabbit. Seems to be my favorite ready locker rifle.I am off to Hunting and Fishing just to look and see that I don't like Gamos with lots of plastic bits.
My first modern air rifle was the Swarm Magnum G2 .22, I bought it in January, the moderator does in fact quiet things down, and at 25-30yds it yields 1/2" groups consistently with good pellets, but the effort required to cock it made it not so fun for the range with my shoulder problems and the kick versus actual power was actually the catalyst to move to PCP. That and I really hate the stock, just feels cheap. I haven't even had it out of the bag for months, the last I did was to run a mag of H&N 18s for chrono data for a member here. Gamo support was meh.
Well I went to H&F and looked. There on the rack was this black plastic Gamo thing with a barrel like a bazooka and just plain ugly. I didn't buy anything and the shop girl wanted to show me the knives in the cabinet. No thank you I have enough.
If the gun shoots well thats what counts, moderators on spring/igt guns are useless gimmicks as the action creates the noise. Moderators are only good for co2/hpa.
Why the heck would they require a FFL? is it your state?
