The Seneca Dragonfly sometimes gets improved accuracy by modifying a barrel band designed for its cousin, the Diana Stormrider. The pumping arm design requires the user to cut the bottom of the band off.
I played with a few different approaches to using electrical tape to accomplish similar stability improvements. The one that worked best by stability and looks: roll electrical tape sticky side out to about the width of a .177 pellet, then compress it between the bottom of the polymer muzzle/sight piece and the end of the pump/compression tube.
Wow, pumping now involves zero perceivable vibration from the barrel and the give of the tape should let the barrel settle in as it wants. To the eye, the barrel looks straight as an arrow.
My first go at this method had little give and the barrel looked bent up a bit. Second try was a charm. Few days now and solid as well as aesthetically arguably better than the band.
My .177 Dragonfly shoots Daisy lead free wadcutters with decent accuracy on just one pump, which none of my other pumpers can do, requiring at least 2 pumps. Hence the Dragonfly's monicker: One pump to rule them all!
