Updates on your Gen 2 mags

Just curious on how everyone's Gen 2 mags are doing. Can not be more pleased with mine, impresses me more everyday. I keep mine simple with a Wally World center point scope on it shooting CPHPs. Just approaching the 200 mark on Ground Squirrels, let alone the starlings, Eurasions,English sparrows and Jack rabbits it has taken. This gun has about 2000 rounds give or take thru it and at 25yards with the CPHPs shoots within a half inch all day long. With Gen 2 system you can really put the pellets thru it. I have cleaned the barrel and did the paste wax treatment to it as I have with all my guns. Any way hope all are pleased with theirs as much as I am with mine. Please chime in with hunting and shooting experiences. Mike

I have the swarm Fusion gen2 and I changed my scope to one with mil dots. I have mine zeroed in at 30 yards and I love this thing!
Once you zero it in, like you said, accurate every time.
My only complaint in with the magazine itself... I had to make my own punch tool to get the pellets to seat in the magazine properly. If I use my fingers it just doesn’t go into the mag and if I use my finger nails it has a high chance of messing up the pellets skirt. Also if I use another pellet as a pushing tool, I run the risk of damaging the skirt. So I took a spare nylon punch and sanded it down to a sharp point just like a crayon (works great!).

Austin I have the same problem if I try to fill magazine while still on the gun, I have used a bullet, ink pen, nail lol all have worked. When you have fat fingers that's how it is. When I load it off the rifle with the clip on a hard surface no problem with seating of pellets. I load it on rifle about 90 per cent of time anyway. When in the heat of battle only way to go. I usually keep my magazine always topped off when hunting, but have had zero issues with the Mag at all. Like I stated mine has had a lot of rounds thru it. Mike

My Swarm Maxxim's magazine needs to be babied a little bit. Maybe you all knew this already, but if I don't get a pellet all the way into the magazine it will have a tendency to fall out when it's supposed to load. I bought a new air rifle-capable scope, but it's on my QB78. I might get a new scope and play musical scopes with the whole bunch of them.

Yeah seems like the mags have the same overall issue. The pellets need to be seated properly to function correctly but it’s hard to get them to seat without a truck of some kind.
If you look at the magazine you will see a black rubber o-ring around it. This o-ring holed the pellets in place. Now imagine the shape of the pellet: fat head, skinny waist and a wide skirt. The o-ring needs to sit around the “skinny waist” . The problem is with just fingers it’s hard to push the pellet far enough in the mag to get the head all the way past the o-ring.
I thought it would get easier with time but so far I put over 2000 rounds through mine and I still can’t load pellets properly with just my fingers.
Now honestly I don’t mind using a tool to load my mag because I have to stop for a minute to load anyway. Cant imagine loading 10 rounds in the field or at a table to be any faster with or without the need of a tool.

I get the impression that the self loading Gamos are problematic. I have three underlever Gamos, all of which I like. Loading through the revolving breach is a little fiddly but not too bad and finger pressure to seat a pellet is enough. Now you have me thinking about a tool to seat every pellet exactly the same. I better try it. Ah, the delightful simplicity of a break barrel springer.

**Update**
After lubing my pellets they slide right in the magazine with just a finger!
So maybe it was just the dry rubber o-ring causing too much friction.
*If you don’t lube you pellets, maybe try a dab of air gun oil on the magazines o-ring.
I Love the Gamo products that I’ve tried and can say the quick loading system is really nice (also removable if need be). The cost of the same gun with no speed load system was only about $20 less. I say it’s worth the $20 extra for sure!

I've removed the Gen 2 mag on my Maxxim and loading directly into the breach. The mechanism is actually quite an ingenious design. There's only 3 issues with it. 1) Shorter pellets need to be pushed in with a seating tool eg. CPHP & HNFTT. JSBs and RWSs diabolos are OK. 2) The shock of the shot can jolt the next pellet out of the magazine. Cocking the gun then makes the pellet fall out. Check before you cock the gun. 3) The magazine rotating mechanism can dislodge from the housing on occasion. The housing wall is insufficiently stiff to keep it in place due to flex. IMO a design flaw. If you're aware of these flaws and how to mitigate, its a great gun that's accurate and consistent

I have the Swarm Fusion Gen II my mag works well except with cross man piranha pellets, I have to use a small screw driver to push them into the mag, so far everything else work great

I have the Gamo Swarm Fushion 10x gen 2 in 177 and 22 caliber. I took the pellet loading system off both guns. Just feed up with all the misfeeds . Both guns are very accurate and enjoyable to shoot.

I took the mechanism off my Swarm Maxxim. If there was some special way to seat the pellets in the magazine to make it reliably load them, I couldn't find it. About one shot in ten would be a dry fire due to a pellet falling out.

I recently purchased a Gamo Bone Collector 10x Gen II .22 and in the beginning I had issues with the pellets popping out of the top of the mag until I learned to use a pen to push the pellets fully into the mag.

I've had my gamo swarm magnum G2( inertia mag) since the beginning of August last year so over one year, and I've never had a problem with the magazine I've shot over 6000 rounds through it!! Been really busy with my business and haven't been shooting lately but today I picked up my magnum with JSB pellets and shot some groups @32yrds and man its still dead accurate
