Hear Ye, Hear Ye!
Come one, come all... Casual Match #1 of 2020/2021 is open for business.!!!
The Casual Match is a fun match. Shoot whatever you want at 10M (more or less depending on what you have available), use any position or rest that you prefer. See below for the details.
Rules are the same as for the 50’ Casual Match, except distance is 10M instead of 50’, using the 50’ target of choice. If you are limited to distance, shoot at whatever distance you have available. Classes are PCP Rifle (includes any rifle except spring or nitro pistons), Jumper (Piston Rifle, spring or gas), and Pistol. One entry may be made in each class.
The match to run 2 weeks, through Sunday, 11/29/2020.
The 50’ rules and targets may be found at:

Outstanding score... now let's see if you can keep it up.

What he said. 8) Craig

Kevin great shooting buddy. Concrete is cool also. At my age (79) , if I did what you did, I would not be able to get back up. :o Craig
-
Me too Craig. It is easy for me to fall down but have not found a way to fall up. So prone is a thing of the past. Great shooting Kevin.

Awesome Kurt!
Nice entry... that is the fun of off season. Getting new match shooters involved.
You will have your ups and downs, we all do... but there is absolutely NO PRESSURE (maybe some ribbing) except in your own desire to improve.
I am just grateful to be able to shoot in the winter!!!
-
Thanks,
I had a scope failure on the 95, white powder in the objective lens, so the 2x7 I used was freshly taken off my HW30 and pressed into service.
Now I have to tell my wife that I need to buy a new scope during the Christmas black out period. ::)
The 30 just received peep sight, but those black targets are hard for me to see the dot from my bench.
I’ll have a go at them offhand, that’s more like area fire.
-
but those black targets are hard for me to see the dot from my bench.
I suggest this target then... 2 shots per bull.
Cancel out your worst one two. ;)
-
Opening shot, x, follow up with heartbreak. Ok, I regain my composure, X!
See, I am that good!
Aaaand then choke the next one out just to torment myself further.
The fun part about open sights in bad lighting is I only worry about sight picture. Where with a scope on this 30 or my 95, I worry about this hand, that hand, cheek weld, double cheek weld, finished of with making a certain face on a certain day.
With the peep on the 30 it’s like that whole world of requirements is gone. All I do is concentrate on the sight picture, which is blurry, and let that shot go like I did go when I was a kid.
This is my fourth sheet of the morning. The others contained some shooting that surprised me as I get use to the peep, but as was this sheet, they were ruined by some lapses in concentration.

Yes Sir I do. So much so that I give you off hand.
Direct your attention to the top row, bull 2 and 3. Those four shots took all of my being and half my reserves.
Sadly, I misplaced them. They were my “Match Winners.”

Old man needs help. Is there a shortcut to these matches? I have been going to the 10 meter off hand rifle match- then to Great Season- then scrolling down to find the link to this match. I know I am missing something. Help for lost one. Thanks
-
Here ya go Don, takes you to shooting match gate (Location of offseason matches):
https://www.gatewaytoairguns.org/GTA/index.php?board=66.0 (https://www.gatewaytoairguns.org/GTA/index.php?board=66.0)
-
Mike, thank you very much. It was probably there all along but I have a bad habit of not scrolling to see what is below. Hope to get some more entries as the match continues.
AND I see that you are up to your old tricks of shooting 200's. You and Craig are a hard nut to crack, but keep an eye out behind you. I am always lurking.
Thanks again. Don
-
No problem Don. You do some mighty fine shooting as well.
That was my first target for this new “offseason” and was my best ever, never had two double 10 throwouts, gun was shooting well that day.
-
Yep, it is in the "Shooting Match Gates" not in a child gate for the regular "Season Matches"...
Glad you found us!
-
Struckat... I am trying to post the results...you submitted 3 entries in this match in the Jumper class,Sorry but only one is allowed.
All other entrants: please post your submission including your user name in the text. That is ca;led out in the rules.
If I copy you "user name" from your log in it shows up a link.
-
Got it, I will follow the rules more closely. Sometimes contact with the outside world gets me too excited for such details.
-
No worries Kurt!
See you in match #2!!
