Title: Krytox GPL205 Lube
Post by: GBertolet on July 02, 2018, 01:28:10 PM
I saw in some posts, members referring to this as a good airgun lube. Can someone provide any information or tips, on how well this works, and it's best applications? I can get it on ebay for $10 for a 1/2 oz tube. I was thinking of trying this on some airgun O rings and synthetic piston seals, but need some guidance, as I am unfamiliar with this product.

Not needed for assembly orings that are static once in place. Just use diver's silicone grease for those. Krytox is good for dynamic parts that move, like orings in a regulator or balanced valve.

GPL 205 is grease. If you are using it on piston seals that slide use oil. I use GPL 106 on piston seals; parachute and o-ring. Krytox is the best lube in and around spring piston compression chambers because it will not diesel or combust. PCPhack is probably right about using GPL 205 on static o-rings. It will work great but less expensive silicone grease will work as well in that type of application.
