QB-79 pellet help

I'm wanting to order a QB-79 .22 from Mike when he gets some in stock and can work some magic on it for me. To tie me over, I've decided to figure out as much as I can inside and out of the gun.
I'm curious to hear what everyone thinks of the gun. More specifically, I'm interested to hear about preferred pellet choices. I use the CPHP .22s in both my other rifles and seem to do just fine. I love that they're cheap and readily available at wally world, but I'd like to know of a few other options to start shopping around.
Stats: Would mainly be for plinking with the hopeful option of doing minor pesting later on. I live in southern Louisiana, but plan on moving back to Arizona. Either way, it'll be 85F++ 90% of the time (to take into account for the CO2 changes).
This will unfortunately be the last AG I get for a good while. Lots of life changes come'n down the line and I really need to buckle down on the spending. I love the style of it, it just jumps out to me. Also, I'm looking forward to have'n a properly tuned rifle and goin straight to the best for some TLC.
Thanks in advance for any input!

I got a 78 in .22 and it absolutely stacks crosman premiers at 30 yards... even at 60 it can consistenly hit shotgun shells. mine is running on hpa so it gets a bit more velocity (about 20 shots at 690 +- 20 fps). I also have the 79 but in .177. Love that action because i am also running it on HPA witha 13 cu in tank. That rifle will only shoot JSB pellets accurately. anything else is a shotgun pattern pass 20 yards... but the heavies jsb go in a little hole that i can cover with my trigger finger nail...

I have owned 5 QBs since the late 90s and every single one of them would shoot Crosman Premier domes in the brown box like nothing else. I don't even try anything else now.

Shane, with the QB79 you'll be able to get several hundred shots off a 9oz. CO2 cyl. But you may need to buy an adapter to ofset the cyl away from the barrel IF it is larger than 2" dia.
I am ordering one from Mike in .22 as soon as he gets the next shipment in, as I hear the last ones had some bad barrels. If you aren't sure about how the Crosman Premier Domes will shoot, you could look at H&N Field Target Trophy 14.6gr. They shoot well in my guns, but I don't have a QB79 yet, so I'll try them when I get one. One of those two will likely work just fine.

Awesome news so far guys! Thanks! Oh, and PaperPunch1 if ya hear/see any info on when he gets some in, mind toss'n me a PM in case I miss something? xD Can't wait to put in an order, very excited to try something other than a break-barrel. I gotta keep an eye out for the 2in tanks, local sporting goods store is always sold out, but they give 1 free fill when ya purchase a new one. Think'n I'll get 2 so I'll always have some on hand.

I have never seen a .22 barrel in any qb rifle that could not shoot very well. I have seen picky .177 barrels, but never a .22. just spent the evening drilling the butt end of soda cans at 70 yards with the 79... God i love these guns...
