Should have listened because I unfixed it. Purchased used, Air Max Precision Mrodair in .177 cal. It was shooting hard and using a lot of air. Couldn't find the place to adjust the regulator so I disassembled it to find out. It's in that hole in the trigger guard. I think I lost a part because the tank leaks air through a vent just in front of the regulator. I replaced the O ring on the chromed part but that didn't solve the problem. Does anyone know what I did wrong?

Mike,
Before I go into detail, did you cock the hammer when trying to fill the air tank from zero? If not, the hammer could be keeping the valve off it seat, making filling impossible. Also, you can adjust power via hammer preload spring. Yes, for larger changes, also reducing the regulator pressure setting is a good idea.
That looks like a relabeled PP700. Searching for PP700 would probably yield more useful results. Also, using google to search for posts on GTA is more effective than the GTA search engine. Click on the links below and see the GTA threads listed, for PP700 air leaks and o-rings:

There is a seat under the stem for the tank. That stem needs to be pretty tight. On the left in photo.
The seal on the reg piston.
Those and the ones you can see in photo and of course the oring sealing in the tube/tank.

If I recall the PP 700 could be difficult to reseal once you get into that regulator area because it seals with a sort of plastic crush gasket and it can take quite a lot of force to get it seated properly. One person I recall gave up and ended up adding an O-ring and somehow that solved the problem but I don’t remember the details.

All kinds of shooting is fun… I don’t care if it’s a gun, if it’s got a trigger on it it’s fun.
