There is more to it than simply 3" of barrel extra ::)The valve work hammer and hammer spring.The transfer port dimensions,and the fact that a QB79 needs a longer tube to act as a pre chamber for the air before the valve.And the valve itself is very different in the crossman I presume it was a boss high flow valve that was fitted to the 2260 There is no one thing that can make that much difference in two similar guns.The QB requires a light delrin poppet and a strong valve spring with a stronger hammer spring,and a lot of polishing and gas flowing of the CO2 path.But it will reach more than 20fpe on Air I know this because they can reach more than that on CO2 Graham.
