Your list of "must try" pellets for every springer.

(1/3) > >>

grackledown:
There are a handful of pellets that I think should be tried in every springer. My list does not have any Crosman pellets on it (please don't be offended) because: 1) I think they are over rated and 2) they are the absolute dirtiest pellets on the market. Oviously my 1st reason is my opinion but my 2nd reason is undeniable. I also have not included any Gamo pellets and I'm sure many of you know why. Anyway here is my list in order of importance.
In .22 caliber
JSB Exact Jumbo Express - 14.3 gn
JSB Exact Jumbo -15.9 gn
H&N Field Target Trophy/ Beeman FTS -14.66 gn
H&N Spitzkugel/Beeman Silver Sting - 15.74 gn (for those who like a pointed pellet)
RWS Superdome -14.5 gn
RWS Super-H-Point - 14.2 gn (for those who like a hollow point)

In .177 caliber
JSB Exact Heavy -10.2 gn
H&N Baracuda Match/Beeman Kodiak Match -10.65 gn
JSB Exact -8.4gn
H&N Field Target Trophy/ Beeman FTS- 8.64 gn
JSB Predator- 8.0 gn

In .20 caliber
Don't know

LongIslandArcher:
Dirty or not, Crosman Premier Hollow Points pellets are very well liked from all my rifles - Crosman NPSS, RWS 350 Magnum, CFX Synthetic, CFX Royal and Daisy 22SG.  What's more, I can run the Crosman pellets in my ultrasonic cleaner and get them pretty clean and let them dry before I shoot them.  And at around $6.00 for a tin of 500, how can you go wrong?

gamostevo:
Here's a small list that I tested at 25 yards on my Gamo CFX .177 all on the same day, with the same variables (ie. target, shooting position, etc.) 5 shot groups.

Crosman Premier Light grouped sub 1/2"
Crosman Premier Hollow Point grouped 1/2"
RWS Superdome four of them grouped sub 1/2" and one flyer made the group actually 3/4" (most of the time they group sub 1/2" must have had a bad pellet)
Crosman Destroyer Hollow Point grouped 3/4"
JSB Diablo Exact grouped 3/4" and for some reason was way off from my zero point.
JSB Predator Polymag grouped 3/4"

I'm sure some of these may perform better in different rifles, however these were my results. They all grouped within the 1" kill zone, so I'm happy with all of them.  I just need to try out some of the other pellets on the market such as H&N.

slimjimzrule:
The crosman destroyers are $2.00 a tin at walmart. They shoot fine

airgunandy:
For .20 cal try JSB Diabolo Exact 13.5gr

For .177 try Gamo Hunters and Crosman Destroyers
