Favorite non paper target?

I have always loved shooting cans filled with water, seeing the damage done by a pellet never gets old. As a kid with a $35 crosman I had the same fascination with it as I do now and as my rifles have gotten more powerful I find it even more fun. Spray paint cans are fun too but it makes quite a mess.

Can lids stuck standing upright in the cracks of a board works well . Hit them just right and they fly away like a frisbee

Spinners are fun. I set this up beyond the paper target used for sighting in. The little spoons really fly when hit. The big spatula is good for checking POI at the longer range if you start missing.

Smallest Aspirins they make

The tiny aspirins. Spread a bottle on a hillside and proceed to turning them into white dust. This will have you searching for expired bottles. One of my Favorite customers ever used to have Aspirin BBQ's where you brought your favorite meat plus a few extra for the crowd to share and we would sit around drinking our favorite beverages and murder aspirins from the shade of a Tree.
Bill Menger was one of the biggest AGNUts I ever knew. He had wall to wall vertical cabinets throughout the whole house with rifles in every cabinet. He musta had over 300 Spring rifles at the peak of his interest. He lived up Coral Canyon in Malibu. Nothing is more satisfying than watching an aspirin disappear in a white cloud. Brilliant

Squirrels, pine cones in the tree, golf wiffle balls, 1"foam plastic cubes, spinners.
In that order.

When I did the youth programs we shot a lot of army men, McDonalds Happy meal toys and the Best was the Dinosaur Party from Toys R Us. Those things were tough enough to take the hits from low velocity plinkers and 10 meter stuff. They would blow up when hit by something substaintial but were always the hit of the session. Paintballs are great also. Glue them to a posterboard at 50 meters.

I used to like plastic army men but the last few bags I bought are a more brittle plastic so they're only good for one shot (they shatter when hit).
Now I like to buy vinyl finger puppets and use them for practice. Only slightly larger than the army men but they'll take a LOT of abuse before needing to be replaced.
I line them up shooting gallery style and see if I can knock each one down with a single offhand shot.

Any reactive target is fun I like to start with easy 10 yard shots then increasing difficulty and range to make it challenging also hones the skilld for small critter head shots

I was at Dollar General looking at Halloween decorations and they had a bag of small (1' X 3/4") plastic skulls. Grabbed a bag and put eye hooks in top, makes great spinners (hanging by a string) and holds up well to multiple hits.

Good reactive targets, like field targets, steel plinker targets, all the tiny things mentioned, and one of my favorites .... new CO2 cartridges ... they are really cool.
