BAM40/AA weight
RedFeather:
I was shooting a couple of guns off-hand and hauled out a BAM40 I picked up not too long ago. Man, that thing is HEAVY! I had added a short variable scope (CenterPoint) in a one-piece mount but it only weighs maybe two/three extra pounds. Was this thing designed for sitting, as in FT? I don't usually bench but do these shoot well from a rest? My bad back does NOT like it. I picked up my unscoped (but still considered heavy) Diana 54 and it was like day for night. Almost perfect off-hand balance. Heck, I've got some muzzle loaders that don't hang as much front-end weight as that BAM.

I mostly shoot my B40 from a bench. Does 1/2 groups @ 20yards. I rest it on my hand and a semi firm grip @ the trigger.

LOL Red
I shoot my AA TX-200 and Pro Sport ONLY from a brench.....:) Heck I would tip over with the weight of that those guns hanging way out in front of me..:)

That's about what I thought. Hangs worse than a D75. Honestly, I watch the crosshairs bob like I'm standing in a bloody rowboat! And folks claim that these are the BEST springer "sporters". Artillery hold? How about Howitzer hold, LOL!

Took mine out back yesterday and shot it offhand standing at about 20 yards. Feels real good but heavy, and I have a big scope with the 3 inch shade on it with both flip ups on. I was able to shoot about 50 shots with no problems, accurate too. Went back to the bench and shot my B28 a few dozen shots and man what a difference.
