I know you said you wanted a springer. But, should you decide otherwise, a Marauder would work well and it's pretty cheap for a PCP starter. Of course, you would have to have a  4,500 psi bottle and a way to fill it. Just something to think about.

If you have an unregulated Marauder, a 3000psi scuba tank can be good enough. I even shot a regulated Marauder for several years using nothing but a 3300psi scuba tank. I just had to fill it more often.

I prefer a simple .177 break barrel HW95 springer, however it does seem that at the FT matches I attend the "springer shooters" are getting fewer and fewer with springer shooters moving up to PCPs. LOL....over the last couple years I've taken 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place at the same match more than a couple times (I was the only piston shooter in the hunter class).  ::)
