Hey Bill, it's not the only rediculous state on the east coast.  Some of the others aren't much better.  I think its because we've got an inordinate amount of PC feel-gooders. First they cry they can't stand it when you want to do almost anything, and when they get their way, they cry someone has to do something to fix what they created! Its not nice to shoot bears, deer, geese......... OH MY! The bears are in my back yard! The deer are eating my plants! And the geese are pooing on my lawn! 

To get back on the Gate subject, "Fun Shooting Events", most of the fun shoots are held out of state and a bit too far for me to get to on a day trip. If enough people wanted one here, I think we could invite all the politicians for a fun day... they'd make great targets!

New Jerkey has the safest criminals in the United States, perhaps the World !

They, the criminals, are protected by the best legal representation that Our politicians legal firms can provide !  You know that they can not have WE honest citizens do harm to their clients, so laws have be implaced to protect them ! No defencive items permitted in New Jerkey !

And should one of their clients get harmed or become injured while committing a crime against an Honest citizen, they, the legal offices of the politicians, will sue the dukey out of YOU ! You know that they have to protect their industry.

Crime in New Jerkey doesn't pay the Criminals, but it sure does keep the Lawyers and Politicians in business.

So you know, You had a Friend in New Jerkey, but He Left !

And will the Last Person Leaving New Jerkey Please Turn OFF the Lights !

Hey guys, a new airgunner from new jersey. (unfortunately i guess). From what I've seen my $40 dollar daisy I had given to me needs to have permits, like that's ever going to happen. But my 1968 Winchester 1200 Hunter is fine, because that is a family heirloom, no permits required until I take it off property. Being in one of the most densely populated states in America air rifles make the MOST sense here. Most game I take is in the woods behind my house, within close range. Airguns are quiet, and don't disturb my neighbors. They also loose their effectiveness at long range, and are a completely humane way of taking game. (Even the 7ft-lb daisy can put one through that squirrel's thick skull.)   Important note, It is perfectly legal to purchase an air rifle out of state, and bring it back. You will have to get permits for it, and you can't legally hunt with it. Looks like I'm moving elsewhere after college...

Although it is definitely annoying and a hassle for them to be classed as firearms, firearms are not illegal in New Jersey. It is illegal to possess or carry them without permit. Airguns can be owned and used in Jersey, you have to be permitted and registered much as you would with a firearm though.

This is precisely why my second home is just south of the Mohawk Valley  of New York.  New Yorks gun laws are nothing to brag about but compared to  New  Jerkey its like being in Montana.  And it's just 4 hours away.

Funny stuff.
I grew up in south jersey (ocean county). I remember going to Bob kislins in toms river drulling over the cool guns they had there.
For me to get and airgun I used money order checks from the 7 eleven and magazine ordered.
My parents knew and didn't say much about it.

I think I had a 1377, daisy 880, and some Chinese .177 break barrel.

Slingshots came from a Philly trip and always ended up with some Chinese throwing stars.

Boy it was fun growing up in the early 80's in jersey.

I too live in New Jermany. The most taxed state with the least amount of freedom. Tax, tax, tax tax tax. I'm just returning from Virginia. Went to go look at homes. $4,400 property tax here is $980 there. Gas was $1.83 a gallon. Cigarettes were around $7.00 a pack. If there's road construction on a EZpass road, they waive the toll. It's free! I could go on forever. They taxed me out. I'm sick of paying every time some fat politician wants to buy his 17 year old daughter a new Cadillac. Do the math. If you're fortunate enough to live in the same house for 35-40 years and paid the property tax, you just bought the same house for your township/city that you live in. You have to have rocks in your head to move here.
