The Bejiman Marauder pcp pistol/rifle with included shoulder stock would be perfect. MidwayUSA has them listed for about $380.00, but they are not in stock yet.

I'd go with the disco/pump combo.  The disco is light, powerful, accurate and very easy to pump up.  As for the pump,, just go slow and give it a rest after every 50 pumps or so and the pump will be fine.  If it does seize up it's a simple matter to send it SunOptics and they will rebuild the pump for $20 and the shipping is included.

I think the disco is one of the best bangs for the buck out there in PCP's.  I have one in .177 and one in .22 and I absolutely love both rifles.

Just my opinion, others opinions will of course vary.

Hi Ricky and welcome to the gta. I would agree with everyone that the discovery is the way to go. It is sized well for a smaller shooter, while providing great power and accuracy. And it does it with a lower fill pressure than anything else. I think they run about $370.00 with the pump or if you watch this forums classifieds section, plus google "airgun classifieds" and you'll find several other sites that have classifieds sections. Watch these and you could easily come out under $300.00 with all required components in good/perfect condition. I see these slightly used guns sold several times a month with certainty. The pneuma is much larger than you would think and the marauder is a bit to big too, i think for a 12 year old. Truly for the money, a disco is your best bet.

If you don't want to pump and have a dive shop near you, or a fire dept willing to fill your tank, you can purchase a 3200psi steel 88cf tank with a cutoff valve for about $150.00 and a fill valve(kingman) is another $65.00. You would get many many fills off this setup, if your filling a disco. Let us know what you decide,  J

im 6'3 and have long arms and the disco is just a might to short for me, but i fill from a scuba tank so i dont worry about pumping.  i got the gun and a 3x9 leapers scope off of PA and im loving it, gun, scope, pellets and rings came in at 305$

im sure you can get a fill valve for 60-75 range and then all you need is a tank.

for christmas i am getting a tko22 6.5in muzzle brake and the qbmag 10 round rotary mag (yes i have .177, and yes nutters and anything that is being a pest hates me now)

i think a 12 year old will love this gun, but keep reminding him, this is a weapon that can do some damage

r1derbike:
NGOTB, get a butt-pad or spacer for your stock!

I vote Discovery also.  Have one, in .22 and it is a surprisingly sweet rifle...really!

There's nothing wrong with springers, have and had many, but there's just something magical getting to watch your shot (through a scope) trek from muzzle to target, with a PCP.

With the money you save getting a Discovery, you could get a fair springer too, and have the best of both worlds; EZ PCP shooting, or Real Man springer shooting.
