Thanks for doing this Tim.  Directions are perfect. Time might vary according to time of year but will be announced on the CASA  Delfi forum.  We have also had a change of access to the range with a new road in. You can still use the old one though.

We hold practice on Friday and Saturday mornings, to be announced when ON.

Warm weather, windy conditions (3-10) and smaller than normal killzones at stretched distances, a kneeling AND offhand lane were the order of the day.
In spite of these conditions, George D. continues to amaze with great shooting. Rick Rogers was responsible for this challenging course.

We had a guest shooter come down from Canada. Thanks for coming, Randy. We hope our course entertained you. WE sure enjoyed your company.

Hi Larry, (and CASA members),

I enjoyed meeting with you guys at Heavens Ranch a couple of weeks ago to watch your club and the FT match. It was fun and you seem to have some great members. I hope that those guys who went up to compete in the Western Match did well.

I went to the new season "kick-off" meeting yesterday for my 4H club, and spoke with the shooting sports leader.
He would like for us (he and I), to come sometime to HR and meet with you. I told him a little about the ranch and the unique arrangements CASA has with the ranch owners. I told him it looked like a very safe and workable range for the kids to learn safe gun handling and target shooting. He is a 4H certified Shooting Sports Progam Leader, (a requirement for a 4H youth shooting program).
We are very interested in finding a place to have a limited number of kids within our club participate in a youth shooting sports program.
Hopefully there can be something positive develop and benefit the kids and families.

Ron,
LP is the rangemaster for HR and they shoot FT there as well as do practice sessions. They are really not set-up to do Youth safety programs like we are at LASC first Sunday @ the Angeles Ranges. Newbies have an nopen invitation @ Angeles but CASA has never had arrangements anywhere else besides the Harbor Police Range which was shut down to the Public at least 5 years ago.
Few at CASA have shown the enthusiasm for tolerating small children or safety programs in General as they prefer to shoot than teach. I feel it is instrumental to our Clubs future and public image and the rest of the CASA Organization yawns when I bring it up.
We have over 20 guns ready to use. I can come to youth events midweek in your area and do 1Hour lectures on safety and demo some high tech gear so people can see that up close. The jest of the program is for everyone to learn safe gun handling expectations and sign-up the die-hards to come to a Angeles Youth program the next First Sunday. WE can do the safety lecture in OC but the practical [portion would be done under shade and controlled conditions for any newbie to get the most from the program. I've taught 1000's of kids to shoot. Nobody else at CASA has any of that experience. Running youth programs is what I've done for 3 decades.
I wish the entire club would embrace the concept that new blood is needed in the shooting sports and what better way to get the ball rolling? I believe Family participation is key to our success as a club. Families that play together stay together. If you're interested in me doing a presentation give me a call. 310-327-3581. Any Youth Group in SoCal can make arrangements to have a Presentation done on Airgun Safety and technology to your SoCal Youth program. WHEN THE STUDENTS ARE MORE ADVANCED WE CAN TAYLOR THE LECTURE TO THAT CROWD. I plan on eventually having the short version on You-Tube and the unedited version as a For Sale Cheap Promotional Item for all to share. The final version will be taught by children to children using my age old script of FUNDAMENTAL SAFETY BASICS.

Don't leave it loaded(or look like it could be)
Don't touch the trigger(UNLESS ON TARGET)
Don't point it anywhere but downrange.

I'VE WORKED WITH 4h, SCOUTmASTERS AND CHURCH BASED YOUTH PROGRAM DIRECTORS TO TEACH OVER 10,000 LA County youth safe gun handling with Pellet guns. When that program was axed by the closing of the Public access to the Harbor Police Range it was the biggest blow to Youth Shooting Safety programs in SoCal ever. The LA County Borad ofd supervisors have been antigun for over 3 decades.
That is why Prado Park Exists. The 1984 Olympic shooting events had to be Staged in San Bernardino County because the LA County Board of Supervisors refused to allow zoning of any land for shooting sports in LA County. Olympics be darn, they were anti gun since then.
Braithway/Burke and Bernard Parks have those particular feathers in their libber caps for shutting down the youth program @ Harbor Police Range. The first time they lied and I exposed them. 5 years later they lied & connived and that worked.
The 2nd Amendment is being hammered by your local libbers. Infringment is in style. Education is all we got left.
