Getting a new neighbor.
avator:
There are 3 acres between the place we used to live and where we live now. There is also the acre that the barn in on. Patrick and Angie bought the 3 acres from our old landlord, Pops. After owning the land for 2 years, they are finally moving in. There are crews down there prepping to put in the double wide mobile home.
Patrick used to work in the stamping department I supervised at the Hyundai supplier I retired from. I once restored a 342 that he inherited from his dad when he passed. They shot that gun together when he was a kid. I also gave Patrick's young son a 2240 several years ago. He was so proud to show me the first squirrel he took with that gun. As he and Patrick were walking up the drive, Rambo sneaked up behind him and stole the squirrel out of his hand. I yelled at Rambo and he dropped the squirrel. It was funny to us but not so much to Todd.
Betty Lou and Angie have met a few times and enjoyed talking to each other. I'm not real concerned about having new neighbors mainly because they are very much like us. We enjoy our privacy and will respect each other.

In rural to semi rural living ... neighbors truly can Make or Break the day to day living experience.
Hope all stays as it has been & everyone gets along ;D

Thanks Scott.. yeah, I'm not too worried about it. Folks in these parts pretty much respect each other. And I do know Patrick so it's not like I have to wonder what kind of people they are.

I'm lucky to have great neighbors. In my neighborhood, I'm the bad neighbor. I'm the old guy with motorcycles, dirtbikes, junk vehicles in the yard, an unkempt lawn and guns. But I predated all of them by decades so they came to my neighborhood. I didn't go to theirs. I'm pleased that a couple of the newer neighbors are shooters and I've heard them pop off a few rounds now and then. I know we wont be complaining about each other. Hopefully, the Mercedes, BMW and Volvo driving new neighbors wont demand that the town pave our bumpy dirt road. I know they don't like dust and mud on their Euro cars.

Got 5 households around our property. There is only one guy I communicate with on a daily basis but I'm in OK relationship with others too. If someone needs help with something, they know they can count on me and vice versa. And that's how I like it, not overcrowded, not too much hanging around, bbqs, group meetings etc. It's quiet and when it's not, that's me shooting airguns lol. ;D
