New to me Airforce TalonSS - Old Tanks and how to proceed.

(1/1)

AustinMatt:
Well when an offer is too good to be true... I picked up a TalonSS last week for cheap, with 3 tanks, the k-valve fill assembly, and a fill adapter. None of the tanks has a pressure gauge on it and none have a fill port (like on my Gamo PCP). I didn't even think to check the tanks till I got home and they are all 2006 tanks.

So looking around, if I buy a new tank I am nearly at the cost of a new TalonSS. My local fire safety place will hydro the tanks for $35 each, which sounds good. But I was wondering if there isn't an option to run a 3k paintball tank as well?

I have a shoebox (which needs a rebuild but can go to 3000psi no problem). I have an older SCBA tank I use with my Gamo.

Where should I start? Spend $100 to get all three tanks hydro tested but then fill them off my not hydro tested SCBA? Is there a way to add a fill port so I can fill them right off my shoebox?

What would you do?

AustinMatt:
Don't all chime in at once. I talked to Airforce. the 3AL tanks never expire so I will get them hydro'd and just go with it. I've got the ability to fill from a scuba tank so will just use that for gauging. Put any other money towards the co2 adapter.

Gotta look at other fun upgrades next.
