Notos/Firewalker build....1st blood !

well, while i was try'n to find the perfect pellet.......this critter decided to invade one of my cardinal's feeders.
just so happens i knew the hold off for the CPHP's i was using at that time.
it was done @ 30yrds & 770fps. its not the perfect pellet, but it got justice !!

i wanted this build so i can take critters in my barns without damaging structure or equipment.
so with a jsb 18gr, i'm hope'n to be good.

I might sound like a fan boy, but try some Daisy/Winchester/Gamo hollow points. They're really soft and expand well at the velocity you're shooting. I don't think you'll have to worry about any damage to your barns.

I might sound like a fan boy, but try some Daisy/Winchester/Gamo hollow points. They're really soft and expand well at the velocity you're shooting. I don't think you'll have to worry about any damage to your barns.

You're welcome. I have all three, and from what I can tell they are the same pellets with different labels.

Edit: I forgot to mention that I got further confirmation today. I ordered some Winchester wadcutters from Gamo USA and got an email from Daisy thanking me for the order.

Congratulations on the kill and the nice looking gun.

My Prod shoots Crosman domed and HP almost as well as it's favorite H&N FTT copper plated.  I've killed a few squirrels with the Crosmans and they worked fine.  I don't see why you would use a heavier pellet if you want to avoid damaging a building.  The heavier pellet will penetrate further, even though the velocity is less.  I rarely get pass through with my Prod which is tuned to 16-17 fpe.  A bit less than a Notos I think.  I suspect most of your hits with 14.? grain pellets will also not pass through.  But 18s may.  If you miss and hit the building, the 18s will do more damage.  If your gun is accurate with the lighter pellets that is what I would use.  But if it's significantly more accurate with the heavier I would probably use them and just be a little more careful.

 Nice tune on the Notos John, similar to how I set up my Prod, just enough power to kill, and little collateral damage. Still shooting my Notos stock, too much fun to spend time to take it apart yet And have not added the bottle and reg I have for it.

John, if you are shooting the 18 gn pellets you might want to give the Apolo 18 gn a try. they shoot great in my Notos and are less expensive than the JSBs. I order mine from Field Supply and they pack the pellets well for shipping.
