Pellet size
(1/1)
RCO:
I a have a Hatsan 95 with a barrel that is oversized. I am going to slug the barrel to find its bore diameter size. H&N make a pellet that ranges from 5.5mm to 5.55mm. Once I measure the lead barrel slug what size pellet should I get? Should the pellet head size be the same size as the slug size or smaller?

Only way to know is test them all. :D Usually you want a pellet that does not fall into the breach but requires a slight push. Push a pellet through and see what the rifleing looks like on the pellet head.
I've had loose fitting pellets shoot well and tight fitting pellets shoot not so well. FWIW-My 95 Vortex likes the hollow point Crossman Pellets more than the domed ones. Same weight and head diameter...go figure ::)

Try H&N or Air Arms Brands they have worked well in many Hatsans I have.
