Cricket 2 or uragan 2. Anybody have them? Which one to get?

(1/1)

22Talon:
Thanks for all the suggestions and help.
I have narrowed it down to these 2 since that is what charlie at georgia airguns has to offer.

Was tempted for taipan but due to lack of parts available at least for now im gonna pass for now unless i see a good deal on a used .22

While doing research charlie seems like quite the tuner and a real stand up guy.
So buying a gun tuned and supported by him gives me the warm and fuzzies when spending this much.

Right now he has the cricket 2 full tuned on special for 1500. He also posts highly of the uragan series on his website as well.

Thing is i cannot find much info on the cricket 2, its mostly the tac version which i am not interested in and most seem to be for 25 cal and slug shooters.

I want a .22 for cheaper and easier to get ammo, and its more backyard friendly i think yet can still take everything i want at high power and long range(75-100yds)
Any more power and ill use the bolt .22 with subs. Slugs dont interst me as of yet so not a consideration.

Cricket has been around and dont see many complaints.  Only ones i seem to find are its harder and complex to tear down. I dont plan on doing any tuning, but being able to replace seals myself would be nice.  How durable are these guns ?dont plan to run over them with a toyota but something that can handle nocks and bumps etc would be good.

Uragan 2 seems to get rave reviews but i don't really trust a lot of youtube stuff cuz they are sponsored and I don't see them call guns bad ever.

How are these guns to maintain? Any problems or complaints with them?
Big thing for me is they are ugly with that big ol bottle out front. How does it effect the balance?  How durable is the bottle? Would it be something probe to cracking if it takes some bumps while in the woods?

Also do any have an anti double feed?
One of the most anying things about the air arms was havin to decock on an empty space in the mag, and keep the next space empty as well so you didnt feed. Basically making i a 9 shot gun. 8 in the mag and 1 in the barrel.

Right now i would be using a pump to fill them, are they pump fillable? I got time and need to get in shape anyway lol i know the uragan will take forever to fill but make it a gym day and then get like 150 shots between fills might not be bad.

If anybody can give experience with them or compair them for accuracy,  sound, durability(or lack of) ease of maintenance  and power adjustment  i would be grateful

Hey Travis, I own both and don’t think you’d go wrong with either one. If I had to choose between the two though, I’d pick the U2.  Both are built like tanks and are quality guns.

I have the Kalibr Tac II in .25, I wanted the .30 but settled for a used .25.  Not sure how similar the Cricket II and the Tac II are, maybe just different stocks?  The cocking is a little rough, had an issue with magazines skipping pellets when cycling, have since remedied with an adjustment screw. I also got info from a tuner for modifying the magazines to help with cycling, I haven’t done that yet. I probably have 2 or 3 tins of pellets through it, the trigger is decent and very accurate.

AGT Uragan 2 I have in .30 700.  I’ve had it for several months but have only spent a few shooting sessions with it.  It came “tuned” to shoot 44gr pellets at around 1000 fps, accuracy was horrible.  I learned these guns like slugs and spent the last time out trying some different ones.  I had really good results with 49 gr Zan and 50 gr JSB Knockouts shooting 50 and 100 yds.  Can’t wait to get back to the range with it again, will try a few more different slugs.  Really nice guns, I like everything about it, very comfortable to shoulder and shoot.

I know I didn’t answer all your questions but I hope this helps.
