Ux Ruger Blackhawk #AD758xxx
Ive had this Blackhawk since last winter. Not alot of shots through, 300 +. Had a crooked Breech Leade taper along with a very rough looking crown. Breech seal seemed abit low so i added Threadtape shims under the seal.
Trigger is adjusted Out. Easily one of the best triggers i have, M34 needs more adjusting to be as good, for Me. The Blackhawk tigger is plastic with a Very light 1st stage with travel and a well defined Wall to stop on to break. Smooth Ball lockup, good open sights.
Before reworking the Crown the Sights were adjusted much left. After reCrown it now hits near center to the right. Good after some work.
This AG does very good 20-30 yards with HNFTT 8.7gr 4.52mm with Open sights for now, will mount a scope after more pellet testing.
No Warmup Shots.

Before Chrono Run, i reworked the Breech Leade and reCrowned using a Dremel 3000 and Cone Stone Bit. The breech seal shimmed with 2 layers of thread tape.
Funny, i was expecting atleast 100+ FPS over what it is currently getting.

This came with a crooked breech leade and a very rough crown. I reworked the Leade and Recrowned the rough crown. I also shimmed the breech seal with 2 rounds of threadtape. This AG does Very good to 35 Yards with the tested Pellets. Open Sights are adjusted to the left some, even after having redone the Crown. Might need to recrown the recrown to get POI closer to Center. At a later time ill add a Spring Rated AO MD scope.
This has good smooth Ball Type Lockup. Trigger adjusted out, 1st stage with travel, good wall to Stop on. Good trigger.
Around 300+ shots in at Chrono Run.

Some smoke left after the shot. Needs more shots to be more consistent. Also need to test more Pellet Types. Puts out Good Power.

(#1) Seems to be a common problem with Umarex/Ruger break barrel rifles.
(#2) I have seen this many times on different (model and manufacturer) break barrels. The sometimes extreme left-right offsets were all due to the front sight being rotated a tiny bit off-center (from the factory).
Only one of those rifles had a bad crown which caused large shotgun patterns. After a re-crown the groups tightened up but there was still a significant left-right offset. I rotated the front sight position a tiny amount and that made the rear sight nearly dead center for best POI.
Obviously bad crowns need to be fixed but I suggest simply checking rotation of front sight if groups are good and the rear sight is adjusted far off-center.
Cheers :-)

mikeyb,
The Blackhawk and Airem2 both seemed to need the breech seal shimmed as the seal didnt appear to protrude past the breechface.
I have checked to make sure the front sight is centered, had it been off center,,that would bother me. The grouping is good, just groups to the side.. i think the crown is good as i got a scope on yesterday and got 15 yards sight in done. I still need to refine sight in for 27 yards.
Thankyou mikeyb for your reply. ExcellentWork.

15 yards, 3 targets. The left and center target were used to sight in some number of shots. The right target is 5 shots on a 3" target.
Yesterdays 21 MPH winds coming from 5oclock position was too much for 27 yard shot groups. I got it to hit close at 27yards, but ill need to recheck on a less wind day. Will also chrono run more types to find a pellet with a lower Spread.

I had redone the breech leade and recrowned the scary looking crown.
I think i overdid the leade as it was crooked and that made me run the dremel longer. Now pellets seat deeper than other barrels.
I tried a few of CPUM 14.4gr and they were all over the place, from 734 to 860 FPS, im sure this has to do with the light fit of the pellets along with the deep cut leade. This does good with HNB18s and HNBH 18.2gr.
CPHP did good until i redone the breech leade. Stock screws have blue locktight.
This RAM is long and heavy, heavy cocking force, alot of action during the shot. Among the best triggers i have. Has done good out to 35 yards. Some time ago i made a 40 yard shot on large feathers with little hold over.
I still need to get a scope on this RAM. Appears to need to be shimmed alot to get it on target.
