So, as I said in another post I've been trying to take a second look at some airguns I set aside almost a decade ago when I was trying to get my kids interested in shooting together.

A few days ago I checked out one of them to see how it would do with a scope and the scope stop I wanted to use was stuck on Ruger Air Hawke and no Allen wrench would fit it.

Standard tools I got, metric hex key sets, sockets yes, but no thread pitch gages or tap and die set for metric so I took a Dremel cutoff wheel and slotted one screw so I could remove the stop and while I was looking for some stray screws at work I emailed GAMO customer service and asked them, well, this

For the scope stop, I have one that the allen wrenches would not take out the screws (looks like 621317454). I had to dremel a slot and use a slotted screwdriver, and would like to know what thread the screws are so I can find a replacement please.

It's $14.90 on their website!

They wrote back offering to send me a new one if I gave them my address - nice nice nice!

I did feel guilty giving them the address, but with customer service like this maybe they're hoping I'll recognize their efforts and consider purchasing ...

Got the new stop today, same problem LOL, hex is off sized. Didn't come with matching hex wrench, but one loose-fitting hex wrench fit enough to loosen the screws. Good enough!

The package said made in spain ... I wonder if they make in-between sizes there? The heads are marked 10.9, very well defined, fine writing (like maybe laser).

Philips screws are fine with me. Strange

10.9 is the grade not the size of the screw.
8.8 is common, 10.9 is harder.
Imagine Grade 5 vs Grade 8 here in the US (SAE)

40+ year old made in usa Craftsman set. Definitely metric, though sae didn't fit either.

I have some hex sets with a few 1/2mm sizes like 4.5mm and 5.5mm. That screw may need one of those?
