I wouldn't consider those combo scopes as a contributing factor to a bargain. Most are garbage and won't even stand up to the gun they are bundled with.

    I agree. Twangers are rough on cheap scopes.

On the plus side, I have used them on low end pumpers and C02 guns in a pinch. But I've seen them not even survive sighting in on some of the springers they are bundled with.

My experience too. I've honestly thrown some in the garbage before even mounting them.

That's the max I used to pay for a new Edge Combo. Saved most of the scopes for OTHER non-springer rifles where they actually work quite well.

I'd much prefer to pay $40 for a factory refurb Edge without a scope. Those were common pre-pandemic. Now that many more folks know about that deal they are pretty rare. I get the emails from Hatsan when one becomes available, but those are SOLD same day usually within a couple hours.

IMO the best bargain springer out there for $40. Just remember the refurbs usually need some extra WORK. I don't recommend buying one if you want a great shooter right out of the box.

We keep one or 2 of these cheap bundled scopes on or near the shooting bench and use them for spotting or watching the target while the other person shoots.

Yeah I just missed one yesterday.  $49 Edge refurb.  Got the notification on my email when I got home from work but it was long gone by then.

I have a 3-9X32 Optima scope that came in a bundle with a mod 125.  After all the things I had read on the forum I didn’t even consider mounting it on the Hatsan.  It has performed excellently on my favorite pumper for several years and has accounted for a number of squirrels.
