Cold climate shipping of GX CS4 compressors

My GX CS4 came shipped with water which is nice, however had I ordered it 3 months from now it would have been shipped with ice! I did not have a coolant tester at home so I went by the only option left,  don't judge, and dabbed a bit on my tongue, no sweet taste, no taste other than maybe a slight oily taste.

If you live in a cold climate I would order before the snow falls! I'm going to contact them later today when I have more time about my concerns.

Strange.... so if the box was laid on it's side or even upside down during shipping would the water have leaked?

Nope. The water reservoir is fully sealed.  As a matter of fact it the sight glass for the water reservoir only works if it's laying flat.

Mine came with a small amount of water present, they say each unit is tested before it leaves the factory. The amount left in mine probably would not have caused an issue, plenty of room to expand, probably.

Going to run mine many times on water before I fill with antifreeze /antiboil to make sure it continues to work.

 Back when hand pumps had a water jacket, I bought one in winter, I opened it and there was water everywhere, I suspect it froze and broke through the seals.
