I received a pm from oldshooter4, who only has 1 post, offering to sell me a HIPac for a 2260. I had been looking for one months ago. He asked if would need shipping from Utah. Good luck folks.

Hey, I got a similar message from oldshooter4 about a WTB post I had in the classifieds. Fortunately, I'd already been hooked up by another member with an extensive presence here on GTA. Mine was an excellent transaction in every way, but I'd be mighty cautious about sending money to a new account with one post. And what about this rule copied from the Classifieds Gate sticky?

2- YOU MUST HAVE BEEN A MEMBER 30 DAYS AND HAVE A MINIMUM OF 20 POSTS TO QUALIFY FOR AD PLACEMENT.

Seems as though he found a loophole in the system. He sent me a personal message, not an ad. He hasn’t responded back.

I wish I had looked here first. It was only a $25 purchase so I wasn't suspicious that somebody would go to the trouble to scam for $25.

If you used PayPal or similar payment option, you might be able to get your money back.

I was a DA and used friends and family. I thought I recognized his user name and thought he was a regular. I guess I confused him with another member. I think that's the first time I've ever been burned, and I've done a lot of online airgun deals over the years.  At least it's only $25

There is no reason he, or any member, cannot receive private messages. Unless their mailbox is full. I sent him one, as well as an email, and received no response. Rocker1 tried also. His IP address showed he was in Michigan. It is possible he moved since registering. But this seems fishy, hence we sent the messages. Since neither of us received a response, he has been banned from GTA Forums. Just too suspicious. We are happy to work with anyone as long as they communicate!!!
