Matchstickshooter:
Just showed up at my door. owner didn't think it was powerful enough. thought the seals were going.
 This one is camo

Having no problems so far... and seems to hold air.

Very nice little plinkers, I have one in Camo too and love it. It's as accurate as my Daisy 499B, but much easier to shoot. Just pump, cock the bolt, aim and shoot. I use Daisy Avanti Precision Ground Shots in mine, but heard of the gun not being ''BB picky''. Try anything but Crosman BBs lol!

If you like to tinker, the trigger is improvable, and the stock could benefit from a little more weight with caulking putty.

These plastic-valve airguns shall not be over-pumped in hope of more velocity, this makes the valve crack fast. I bought one in black as a parts gun, no longer functionnal because it's been over-pumped. All the gun is good, but the valve is totally shot. I heard many stories of that happening with plastic valves, but not with the older metal valves though. I believe they can be retrofitted, but don't take my word on that.

Anyways, hope you enjoy yours as much as I enjoy mine!

I still have the one my grandfather gave me back in I think 1976. Still shoots just fine, never had a lot of power to begin with. I kinda screwed up the receiver trying to melt a dovetail into it to mount a scope - 10 year olds do some pretty stupid things LOL.

Hey, it's what makes it uniquely yours.

The 840 is the gun that every 8-year-old swears is a multi pump and will get more powerful with every pump.  ;)

Oh, he got something in trade for it, actually an upgrade.(maybe)  I had a 35 I was putting on consignment. He's happy.

And as it turns out, I left it overnight and it held air.
Shooting it this morning I found out it's very accurate.
  I started smelling OIL.   Hmmmm
Got up close and started pumping and firing at a blank paper in my target box.  gracious
this thing is full of oil.    Sprinkled the paper for about 25 shots, and decided to do the alcohol flush.
That took a while.   Finally came clean enough, I put just three drops of oil on the foam. ND 30wt.
Ran some cleaning wipes through the bore.
 Acting so much better!
