GAMO STUTZEN.....an uncommon model
«

Hello everyone.
For the pleasure of the eyes, an uncommon model.....A sympathetic grandmother for open sight shooting......A competitor, more accessible than the DIANA STUTZEN
I named....GAMO STUTZEN.
It is not a beast of competition, but it does the "Job" for leisure.
On the web, there is not much technical information, so here are some gleaned from the "Oueb":
Stock:
- Stock: Selected fine quality beech wood.
- Stock: Wood barrel long Manlicher style.
- Buttpad: Ventilated rubber shock absorber pad.
-Busk: Left side.
- Grid: Sculpted Laser type Monte-Carlo.
Viewfinder:
- Rise: Steel. Micrometric adjustment both windage and elevation.
- Handlebar: Steel. Carved 4 floors.
Optical:
-Accessory ramp: Raised rail 11mm for monobloc.
Features:
- Weight: 3,190kg (2.9kg on some sites) .
- Length: 100.33cm.
- Ammunition: All diabolos.
- Caliber: 4.5mm.
- Trigger weight: 1.496Kg max. Adjustable.
- Cocking effort: 22.7Kg
- Barrel length: 33.02cm ......this may seem very short for a rifle...but in fact, its precision does not suffer from it.
For more than 20 years of age, it seems to have been maintained, during its life.... "Aux petits oignons" (onions), as we say at home...which means, "in a perfect way" (For gastronomy !)
Energy of the object in my possession: ~16J (JSB Exact Express 4.52mm - 0.510g - 250m/s - From "Androïd Chrono Connect" value to be taken with care because it is not a real "Chrony")
It also seems to exist in 20, 24J and in Cal .22......
------------------------------
At 20m, with RWS Club pellets....and....chinese 4x32 scope.
During adjustment (Visible) Seated Front support...Then Seated Front/Rear support
Well, there is certainly better ... but for me, it's already good!
Friendships to all.
Post-Scriptum: Please forgive me for my translation......And yes, I only partially write the English language..... ;-)

That is among the most beautiful rifles I've ever seen, pneumatic or firearm.

Thanks, for the pictures. I've seen pics of the gun before but never the cocking lever or pop-up breach. Is that trigger guard metal? Very cool.

Yes, everything is in metal or wood, except for the only external part in synthetic material (brass chamber) which is the loading elevator

C'est un fusil très attrayant. Si j'en avais un, il serait probablement accroché au mur. Il ne serait jamais sorti dans les bois ou les jours de pluie. Merci d'avoir posté les superbes photos.

Thank you for your answers...
--------------------
The only modification made on this airgun concerns the "Couronnage" (Crown).
French term, which consists of designating the deburring of the exit of the barrel in order to make the exit of the helical grooves homogeneous ..... we redo the "crown" of the barrel at an angle of 11 degrees for a better performance.

Of late wood stocks and the "classic Sporter" stylings have fallen out of favor with me....
BUT HOLY COW!!! that thing is gorgeous! No wonder they are rare, if you had one youd never let it go
Beautiful gun! Thanx for sharing!!

That is easily the nicest Gamo I have seen, and probably will ever see.
Had no idea the produced such a rifle.

I have 2 of them. Gamo used better beech on them, like the Royal series Gamos. Mine are both fancy looking quarter sawn beech and look real nice. A "gold aftermarket" trigger is a good improvement. Looks way better too.. Apparently yours is an early one without the (dumb) cocking lever extension. Maybe yours is a detuned version, which honestly isn't a bad idea. I thought about detuning mine to 12 ft lb and scrapping the collapsible cocking extension. It's just weird. Mine just sit, I don't get around to shooting them. But might some day.
I also have BSA Stutzens and at least Gamo didn't use an unnecessary (retarded?)Maxi Grip scope rail that forces you to find 14mm scope rings that ultimately raise the scope to a High mount which is way too high for the comb. Another BSA blunder. Not to mention they are a royal pain to work on.
When my BSA's are gone I will probably keep a 12 ft lb Gamo.
