have any new 1911 style air guns been released over the past five years or so?
(1/1)
MikeMyers:
Several years ago, I purchased a Umarex pellet gun based on a Colt 1911 pistol. I haven't been looking at new air guns in a long time, and my gun has just been sent back to Umarex to get the grip safety adjusted.
My question is, over the years, have an newer and "better" (more precise) 1911 air guns been released?
Other than for when I visit my brother, my air gun mostly sits in a box. I don't have enought time to practice with, and dry-fire, my "real" 45 ACP and 9mm pistols as it is..... but I thought I could shoot the pellet gun indoors.
I should add that I've been very pleased with the gun I already bought, but curious what else is now available....??

Mike Myers, the 1911 in your picture is made in Germany with a rotary magazine, shoots pellets and non-blow back and expensive as I remember. Most replica pellet shooting autos with drop out mags and blow back tend to get negative reviews like 3.5 to 4.0. BB shooters usually get like 4.5 to 5.0.
The BB 1911's Pyramyd sales are by in large the KWC company made guns, some with different branding. Most like other replicas have large drop out mags that hold the BB's as well as the co2 cart. I have three or four of them and several other besides 1911's. These mags are like $35 to $45.
Daisy use to sale a 1911 Model 11A1 but now only the Winchester 1911 model 11 and in the past 11K black and silver. Only the Winchester M11 now. By luck I have all three. Some people might not know the Sig Spartan and the Sig Max Michel(discontinued) are the same gun (all made in Japan) except for a accessory rail, rounded hammer and a extra piece on the bottom of the mags. on the Sigs.
They like a lot of other replicas, have mags that only hold BB's and have separate compartments for co2. These mags are like $12 to $18. I prefer these now because they're cheaper and co2 use is easier and more economical. And the guns are a little cheaper.
With the cheaper mags I can shoot the mag and two spares and reload and shoot them again and have one empty or close to empty cart left over. With the more expensive mags that hold ammo and co2, I can shoot 3 mags reload shoot them again and I'm left with 3 half full co2 carts and may not want to shoot anymore. And I don't like to leave half empty co2 carts in the guns. But co2 carts are cheap.
Also, Walther, Glock and Sig Sauer have some nice co2 replica. Last couple of co2 pistol I have bought are a ASG ISSC M22 co2 BB, a ASG Bersa BP9CC and a Sig P365 co2 bb and a Sig 1911 Emporia Scorpion. I like the ASG's and Scorpion. Jury's still out on the P365
I also just bought Sig M17 co2 pellet shooter. Only negative is it doesn't lock back on empty. But the mags are outstanding. They have small 20 round mags that snap into the main mag that holds to co2 cart. Nice gun and accurate. Also got the red dot sight made for it.
Sorry, didn't mean to be so long winded, Later, Tim.
