Saw this on the UMAREX site
https://www.umarexusa.com/axeon-second-zero-large-rail-330-yard-promo
The Axeon® Second Zero® is a precision optical device that gives any rifle shooter an instant additional zero distance whether in a hunting or tactical application. It’s an aiming device used in conjunction with your shooting optics and works with all optical sights. The patented Second Zero®, is a prism driven optical device configured to bend light at a precise minute of angle to achieve a “second zero” downrange. It will revolutionize the way you achieve accuracy at long distances. The device simply mounts on the Picatinny rail forward of a traditional scope, red dot, ACOG, or other optic. Your optics function normally when the Second Zero® is not being used. When engaged, the prisms of the Second Zero® shifts the image to compensate for bullet drop. Simply place the crosshairs on the target just as you would at 100 yards and your Second Zero® provides you a "second" zero.

I saw that too and thought it’s a good idea. I really like my little red dot and this could make it better. Hmmmm.
Buuut, pic rail only...I hate adaptors, so I am out.

MY dots are mostly on adapters anyway, might give it a try, better price than Amazon BTW, and they have versions that mount to the scopes bell also

I saw those at Umarex as well -- fascinating concept. $40 is in the "I'd try that" price range...
I believe it is more than just a prism -- I think/hope they've managed to work the optics so it shifts the aim and does not create a rainbow effect as might be expected. If it is just a prism, I found online optics calculator that led me to believe the red and blue shifts would only be about 0.1" at 100 yards, which wouldn't be too horrible. Do not trust my math on that.
They only offer them in two shifts -- 4.3 and 11.5 MOA, which is severely limiting. I'd like to use a pcp .22 setup for 100 yards at 50 (or less) but need 15-16 moa shift to avoid the huge hold under. Plus these don't appear to be reversible, which is what I'd need.
I wondered if silhouette shooters -- known fixed distances -- would use these instead of clicking or holding over/under -- if they could get the exact prescriptions their gun needed...
