Heartbeat
rsterne:
I was doing some shooting at 100 yards yesterday, and I could clearly see my heartbeat moving the crosshairs over 1 MOA.... I tried shooting between beats, but the trigger pull was too high, and I ended up pulling every shot to a different location, I could not figure out how to "squeeze" the trigger in that 1/4 second pause.... Short of using a vice to hold the gun (not allowed in NUAH) and an electronic trigger, and not touching it during sighting, how do I minimize the effect of my heartbeat?.... There has to be a better way than forgetting my heartbeat and relying on luck to get under 1 MOA....
and no, turning off my pacemaker won't help, it only rarely paces me (less than 1% of the time).... ::)

That can be tricky, I hit a state of transcendental meditation, when I have my Zen on. Try some mediative exercises. ;)
Struckat:
After hand pumping I usually go right to the bench. The added difficulty does help me control breathing when shooting under normal conditions.
The heartbeat, no, can’t fix that. It moves me around a lot.
Madd Hatter:
I don't hold the rifle in my shoulder very tight like you would with a PB. I support the butt stock with my left hand in a fist. Another thing I've discovered is holding the scope with my left hand instead but haven't tried it at anything over 40 yards.

Very much like this…no cheek contact and free recoil (except on the Texan). Only real contact is grip/trigger. Obviously this is a bench only technique with other means of support.
