It might be very faint, but should be there on the front looking down from the muzzle.

Interesting, it's clearly not there.
Maybe Crosman stopped that stamp a little while after introducing the serial number date codes, or this one just missed that step ?
I haven't seen another with the dual date codes like mine to know whether or not it's a fluke, but I'm thinking it was likely dropped by the end of April.
I still don't know when the serial number date codes actually started though.
Crosman just says after July of '75 a gun will have it, they don't really say it wouldn't before then though.
To me " after July " means introduced in July, but who knows what that means to them.
I don't think there's another airgun out that that's as inconsistent in details as the crosman 760, so many examples out there contradict everything.
