My Notos
miksatx:
Likes h&n excites hp shoots same hole as cphp only faster. Black off the hammer spring 1 turn drops it to 12fpe and would make for more shots. Fitted with the athlon talos 3x12x40 it bust the scales at 5lb 6oz. Oh almost forgot huma reg for the pp750 works fine with the rifle.
anti-squirrel:
Michael- every barrel I own that likes the Excite pellets does even better with the RWS Meisterkugelns wadcutters and Superdomes. The power level you're using would suit Superdomes for "reaching out" at longer ranges and the Meisterkugeln wadcutters for sub-30yard pests and punching paper.
That's pretty cool the Huma for the PP750 fits it.

I would also like to know if the plastic picatinny rail is stable. With the rifle in a rest, can you see cross hair movement in your optic if you apply strong sideways pressures to the very front of the rail while sighting?

John, sorry for the late reply, been pretty busy with camping and such which I do a lot of during warm weather. As for Notos accuracy at 35 yards, (the max distance I shoot most vermin), my stock Notos can easily take out squirrel head sized targets at that range with my 1X Sig Romeo4 optic and CP Dome pellets. Starlings, Chippers, and bird feeder raiding squirrels have all met their maker at that distance. I have shot one inch by one inch targets at 50 yards as well, but the fpe is falling off fast at that range and accuracy falls off as well.
As for the picatinny rail, I have not had any issue with mine, but my optic is very light weight (~5 oz), so is not likely to stress the rail.
