Modding single pump to multi pump question

I tried this in the Daisy section but it hasn't gotten much (any) traction.
I have a Daisy 717 on the way and I've read 400 fps is top speed, but wondered if there were a way to convert a single pump to a multi pump. Not 10 pumps, like 2 or 3 max to get it to 500-600 fps. Has anyone tried this, and perhaps more importantly, been successful at it?

You'll probably need to start with a check valve of sorts in the valve. If your pump seal and linkage will even handle the pressure of additional pumps, it's gonna get real hard to pump, real fast.  That would be my guess.

Why not just start with a multi pump... the 717/747/777 Daisy is/are classic...Why mess with it..?

Adapting any sort of valve or chamber will take up room in the pump tube.
That will necessitate a shortening of the pump stroke.....
Not a simple undertaking.

Ive attempted a few with limited sucess on other ssps. if you could add a check valve inside the 717 valve , similar to that found on an 880 , it could work.. 600 would be unrealistic , the mechanical parts are too weak. but 450 -475 is plausible . The design being a true dump valve is actually advantageous.

 don't think the gun can handle any more pressure. It's built to lightly, Daisy even cautions against adjusting the piston to try and get more pressure.

That could be out of concern for the strength of the pump lever.......

Thanks for your replies guys. I have a better understanding of what's going on with the 717 now. I have a 1377 that I am tinkering with, looks like I need to leave the Daisy well enough alone.
