Forty years ago, I had to get a FOID card to buy a 177 air rifle in New Jersey and a pistol permit to get a 177 air pistol there also.

I escaped N.J. 22 years ago and never looked back.

Thomas, putting the zero on the left side of the decimal point is the scientific method to state something less than a whole number.

How the current law effects me is certain vendors will not sell/send any caliber airgun to me.
Some vendors will only sell/send me .177 - not anything larger.
Some vendors will sell/send me any if I send them a copy of my Drivers License and FOID card.
Some vendors will sell/send me any airgun they have.

I have bought a .22 airgun and have it shipped to a friends house in Indiana ( 60 miles away )
