Umarex Notos. Initial Impressions/Observations

<< < (34/37) > >>

2A Georgia:
Got around to adjusting the trigger.  With no first stage as I like it the gun fires while returning the cocking lever and/or with the safety on.
I got the trigger now set to not fire while cocking and not fire with safety on.
Back to a noticeable first stage with a mushy feeling.  I guess we'll see if that affects my groupings or if I'll be "learning" trigger technique for this AG like grip for the Gamo jumper...Also decided to use the single tray until I get some CARM magazines.  I mounted the Centerpoint 3-12X44 with included rings and should have plenty of clearance for the 12 round CARMs.

huntr:

Rings are Westhunter 36mm center height.

tennx:
Just a FYI….mine is fairly consistent (Im not a hole-n-hole shooter)…using CPUM”S @ 30yards using 1 OEM and 3 PP750….since I only kill paper certainly wont go hungry….good luck

bchannell:
I waited to order my Notos, and I'm sure glad I did, it's a fantastic rifle.
Some observations:
Accuracy:, mine is truly amazing. I hope they all shoot like this one.
Magazines: mine does have problems with the first round, but subsequent rounds feed ok. Strangely, poi is not affected with this, but still I ordered a couple of Maple Custom mags, should be here tomorrow.
Trigger: mine was pretty horrible, heavy, gritty, and just downright awful. First attempt at changing angles was better, but still not good. I almsot gave up. After years of working on triggers on all kinds of guns, I knew this one would take a lot of work. Well, I shelved the gun for a week or so. Sometimes you just need to walk away and clear your head. Back to the trigger and checking the pivot angle and rotation angle, and a light went off and I changed the angles again. The sear is HARD, which is good, it's won't wear, but it took some stoning to get the angle changed as much as I needed. I actually bought a second sear just in case, but didn't need it. On the fourth go around, I put it back in the gun and it was VALHALLA!, a great trigger, and safe too.
Scope: I had to ad extensions to raise the scope to a comfortable height, but no biggie, and it shoots so well, I'm good.
Mine was built with everything fitting and lining up very well, so I have no complaints at all. I love the thing. I carry it with me almost every day when I walk the dog on the farm, and plink and dispatch the odd rodent. It is one fun gun to shoot.

rcflyair:
Yep, I scored one on the 20% off sale at Pyramyd and it arrived today.
Cleaned it up, put the stock on, cleaned the barrel, put on a UTG Bugbuster 3-9 scope.  Mag works ok.  Cock and feed still a little rough.  First mag used to sight in the scope, then put 14 shots in .25" hole at 20 yards.  Flabergasted!

I wish I'd have got one sooner......
